So yesterday I got to show you all the newest updates on the website, but I haven’t blogged the two new weddings I shot last weekend. What’s that I say? Weddings? Wha? I got to second shoot TWO weddings. Meaning I got to help another photographer shoot a wedding without doing ALL of the work. :0) As a second shooter you don’t always get the shots the main photographer can get, but you get the shots they usually DON’T get because the focus is on the bride. A second shooter’s purpose is to try and get all the shots that the normal photographer can’t usually get or just to help out with the harder shots like the bouquet toss.
For my Friday wedding I got to shoot with the wonderful Jill and Kory Leo out of Natchitoches, La, check out the pics. (More coming soon)
Isn’t he adorable? Strangely enough he let me take pictures of him the entire wedding, but when it came to taking pics of the groomsmen he did NOT want to get his picture taken with them. He didn’t make a sound the entire time he put up a fuss, but he liked the idea that someone had to literally drag him into the pictures I guess. :0)
This wedding was on Saturday with the native Ross Frazier from Ruston. I loved this wedding, and I’m so glad that Ross invited me to come shoot with him, he’s awesome to work with! I had a lot of fun and got to experiment with different types of lighting for this one which is something I don’t get to really do for weddings often.
The wonderful Lauren Bresch came to do Meredith’s makeup. I’ve had the chance to work with Lauren before on one of our photography meetings, and she comes highly recommended. You can check out some of her work on her blog HERE. Also before I forget check out the link on the left that says “clients” it has some friends I highly recommend using for weddings or videography.
This image single handedly made me decide to buy a video light or a small portable light source other than an external flash. The harsh direct lighting of an external flash even diffused just never looked good to me. A single video light on a stand positioned correctly can make all the difference in the world though. This picture is one of my new favorites!
The bride got up on stage and literally sang a song to her new husband. I was in shock at how beautiful the entire thing was. Her voice was amazing! Next time I’ll use the audio feature of the camera to get something from it so I can blog it.
Check back soon as I promise I’ll keep updating more often than not! I’m also sure that my regular blog stalkers are getting sick of just seeing images here so I might post some random things from time to time from now on.
